Perennials - Siberian Iris

It is a glorious, sunny Saturday and after weeks of dreary, chilly and wet days, it's most welcome! While I strolled through my garden this morning, I couldn't help but smile at all of the perennials that are blooming their little hearts out: Siberian Irises, Painted Daisies, Globeflowers, Bearded Irises, Rock Rose, Shasta Daisies, Cranesbill and so on. I wanted to share this photo of some of the Siberian Irises with you so you can enjoy their beauty as well. Whether you are new to gardening or a seasoned veteran, I think you'll all agree that we are pretty darned lucky to see sights like this! Siberian Irises (Iris siberica) are very easy to grow. They are hardy down to zone 4, prefer moist soil and will grow in sun to part shade. Their height ranges from 2 to 4 feet. They just bloom for a few weeks but the tall, narrow leaves look lovely in the landscape for the whole growing season.
