Veggie update - Tomatoes

I wanted to share with you how I'm growing some of my tomato plants this year. I have 2 raised beds that hold 4 plants each, and they have large tomato cages around each one. I had 6 extra plants from what I started from seed this year but no more tomato cages to use.

First, I put a 4'x8' sheet of concrete reinforcing wire down the middle of the bed and anchored each end with a length of metal conduit. I planted the tomato seedlings on either side of the wire. As the plants grow, I will hold them up by running some twine around the whole support. I'm hoping this will work great. I learned this method from retired organic farmer Dave Swett, who uses large metal gates to support his tomato plants.
