
Here is another photo from my trip over to the West side of the state. This is a hydrangea and what a magnificent color of blue it is! The interesting thing about hydrangeas is that the amount of acidity in the soil is what dictates the color of the blossoms. For example, if your soil is quite acidic, you'll get blue flowers. If it's more alkaline, you'll end up with pink flowers. We always see a lot of blue hydrangeas in gardens on the West side.
