Anyone who knows me well will find it humorous to learn about one of my newest and most favorite perennials. It's Shasta daisy 'Banana Cream.' That's because of all the foods on this planet, the only one I detest is the banana.
But after growing the more familiar white Shasta daisies for years, this new cultivar is quite appealing. The flower petals start out as pale yellow although they do tend to bleach out to an off-white after a few days of sunshine. Even so, they've made a nice addition to our front perennial bed this year.
