Hi, everyone. Sorry for the lack of posts over the past week but I've been way too busy lately! I wanted to let you know about another gardening event that is coming up.
The Friends of Manito are hosting a propagation workshop next Saturday, Feb. 12. It begins at 1 p.m. and will be taught by Steve Nokes. Steve, who is a Master Gardener and also a nursery owner, is an excellent and very enthusiastic speaker. You are certain to pick up all sorts of useful tips from him.
The program is free and open to the public and will be held in the Manito Park meeting room, which is located just east of the Gaiser Conservatory on Spokane's South Hill. Pre-registration is a good idea so be sure to call their office at (509) 456-8038.
Another tidbit of news that I wanted to share is that my garden columns will be starting up in the Sunday editions of The Spokesman-Review as of Feb. 20. I have all sorts of fun, interesting and useful topics planned for the 2011 growing season. My columns will run on page D3 of the "Today" section each week.
