Events - Garden presentation

On Sunday May 21, Janis Saiki will give a presentation on "Plants That Deliver." This free program will take place in the Manito Park Meeting Room, which is located just east of the Gaiser Conservatory, at 1 p.m. The program is sponsored by The Friends of Manito (TFM).

Janis is the Plant Manager and Garden Designer for TFM and a Master Gardener as well. She is very knowledgeable, particularly when it comes to cool plants that add a lot to the landscape.

According to the press release, "The class will learn about plants available to enhance a garden and make it an interesting contrast in form, texture and color. Janis will discuss plants that flaunt enormous leaves, or reflect so much light as to act like smoldering beacons. A garden is most remarkable when it reveals layers of, not only, various shades of green, but also gold, silver, blue, purple, brown and red. Combine these with power bloomers and all gardeners can achieve an exciting space to enjoy."
