There is an annual event being held this Saturday and you DON'T want to miss it! It's the WSU Spokane County Master Gardener Open House and it will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Extension office, 222 N. Havana St.
There will be informational booths on all sorts of useful and fun gardening topics like herbs, beekeeping, raised-bed gardening, container gardening, drought-tolerant plants, propagation, greenhouse-growing, roses, growing berries and tree fruits, and much more. There will also be a home and yard sale, a plant sale and a very fun raffle for all kinds of cool gardening and gardening-related goodies. The plant clinic will be staffed with volunteers to help you sort out your gardening questions and problems. And there will be lots of fun activities for the kids.
Former WSU Spokane County Extension Agent Tonie Fitzgerald, author of one of the best - if not THE best - gardening books for local gardeners will be on hand to sign the newest edition of her book, "Gardening in the Inland Northwest."
Best of all, this event is FREE! How could it possibly get any better? I hope you will make time in your day to attend. It's a wonderful way to let the public know about all of the ways your Spokane County Master Gardeners serve the community and is a fun way to kick off the gardening season.
