Those of you who have attended my classes on raised-bed gardening, or who have been reading my newspaper columns over the past couple of years, will recall that I grow pole beans on metal arbors (see photo). This has worked great for me and I intend to use this method from here on out.
The reason I bring this up is because I saw that Fred Meyer has all of their arbors and trellises on sale right now. That's where we bought ours. So if you've been thinking of doing the same, or need some for other areas of your garden, this would be a great time to pick some up. It's always cool when garden centers put great stuff like this on sale at the beginning of the season, rather than at the end!
