May 15 column

Here is a link to my column in today's edition of The Spokesman-Review: Some juicy news is on the way.

It is about growing tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and basil. All of these crops are heat-lovers so they need to be planted during the frost-free portion of our growing season - preferably at the end of this month or the first week of June.

I usually plant mine around the end of May although I do have three tomato plants in the ground already because I'm testing a product called "Kozy Coats." Refer to my May 5th post for more details on them as well as the way I've set up our tomato bed if you missed it.
