I know I go on about Oriental poppies every summer but this year, they seem to be especially spectacular. I've been seeing them all over town and keep remarking on how they brighten up a garden. I've got red, purple, salmon, pale pink and white poppies in my garden. They are a cinch to grow and very forgiving.
My husband took this photo the other day - even though it was a dazzlingly bright day, you get the idea of how large and plentiful they are.
