Northland Rosarium, which is located southwest of downtown Spokane, will be hosting two fun classes next week and I thought you would like to know about them:
The first is a Mosaic class on Thursday, July 28, at 6 p.m. Guinevere Mee will teach about the different methods and materials to use, and give you ideas of projects using mosaic tile. You will take home a finished project to enjoy and add to your garden. The class costs $18.
The second class is a Hypertufa class on Saturday, July 30, at 9 a.m. I took this class last summer and it was great fun. Hypertufa - made from aggregates and Portland cement - is used to create rustic-looking troughs and containers for all sorts of plants. They look particularly nice when planted with several different types of Hens 'n Chicks. This class will be taught by Sherrie Guiles and Phyllis Hathaway, two of the nicest, most creative and avid gardeners I know. You are sure to enjoy this class! The cost is $35 which includes the hypertufa "recipe" and all materials.
Since space in each class is limited, be sure to register ASAP, either by calling (509) 448-4968 or via e-mail at carol@northlandrosarium.com.
For additional information about these classes, as well as directions, go to Northland Rosarium's web site. You also should know that Northland will be closing for the season next Saturday as well, so this is a perfect opportunity to visit the display gardens. Or even if you don't go to the classes, go see the display gardens! They are just gorgeous.
