Isn't this a beautiful time of year? For some reason, it just seems like a great time to decorate the entries to our homes and add warm colors to each of our rooms within.
I recently purchased some ornamental kale from Stanek's Nursery on the South Hill (2929 E 27th Ave.) and am decorating my front porch with them along with some pumpkins and winter squash from the garden. What fun! Another great plant that says "fall" is the chrysanthemum. Pots of them are available all over town this time of year and they come in glorious colors -- deep purple, lavender, burgundy, yellow and gold.
I subscribe to a free e-newsletter put out by the folks at Better Homes & Gardens. It's called "100 Days of Holidays." The newsletters contain holiday decorating information, recipes and gift ideas. It comes every day, which is a little tricky to keep up with, but it's really given me a lot of great ideas and inspiration.
