If you have been interested in building your own raised-bed garden, I wanted to let you know that I will be teaching about raised beds on Sat., March 24 from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
The class will cover the benefits of raised beds, choosing appropriate materials, how to assemble the beds and detailed information on growing specific vegetables in raised beds. I'll also share photos of the gardens of local folks who have discovered how great this method of gardening is.
The class is being sponsored by the WSU Spokane County Master Gardeners.
Pre-registration for the class is closed but they are accepting "walk-ins" at the door on Saturday. The class costs $12 and will be held at the Extension building, 222 N. Havana St., just south of the fairgrounds and Indians ball park. For more information, call (509) 477-2195.
