Don't miss this Saturday's (June 9) plant sale put on by The Friends of Manito. They always have outstanding plants that are well-suited for Inland Northwest gardens. The sale runs from10 a.m. to 4 p.m., although members of TFM can shop early, between 8 and 10 a.m.
In addition to shopping for plants, be sure to check out the music (provided by the Barking Katz Band), demonstrations and children's activities. Here is the demonstration schedule:
11 a.m. Spokane Country-WSU Master Composters/Recyclers will
make a worm bin that will turn kitchen waste into nutrient rich
compost
12 p.m. David Trail will explain how to make a
glazed planter fountain
1 p.m. Bob Coulter will
demonstrate how easy it is to build a paver/stone walkway in your garden
2 p.m. Theodora Sallee will plumb concrete leaves into
a water feature
3 p.m.
Gabi Tilley will reveal an unusual way to make an
extremely lightweight faux stone planter
