Have you been to Vicki's Garden Center yet? It's located on Inland Empire Way on the southwest side of Spokane and they have a terrific sale going on right now. All plants are 50% off. Wow.
This was my first trip there and I figured that since it's midsummer and so hot, maybe the plants wouldn't be in very good shape. Well, I was wrong because they are all beautifully cared for and look great.
This sale includes annuals, perennials, ornamental grasses, hanging baskets and containers. For example, they have gallon-size pots of blooming Oriental lilies -- yes, those are the ones with the intoxicating fragrance -- on sale for $3.00. I bought some gorgeous blue delphiniums, pale pink Platycodons (Balloon flower), a few peppers and eggplants, and quite a few bedding plants for a little extra color.
