Happy Easter, everyone! Here is a link to my column in today's edition of The Spokesman-Review: "It's a cool time to grow potatoes again." As you can probably guess, it's about growing potatoes, which are a cool-season veggie crop.
A few years ago, we had an unpleasant experience with our potato crop in that it succumbed to what we believe was Late Blight. We had to wait a couple of years before growing it again, just to make sure that disease, or whatever wiped out our plants, wasn't going to gain a foothold in our garden.
We finally get to plant them in our garden again this season and are looking forward to growing what ordinarily is an easy and fun crop to grow.
