Just in case you didn't notice it in today's Fred Meyer ad, all of their arbors and trellises are on sale through next Saturday.
You might be familiar with the fact that I grow my pole beans over an arbor each year (see photo) and it is just the slickest method! The arbor spans over a pathway between two raised beds so it takes up very little valuable real estate in my garden.
The beans hang down on the inside for the most part, making harvesting easy, and you get to stand in the shade during the heat of the summer while harvesting them.
We bought our arbors at Fred Meyer a few years ago and they are very sturdy so should last for years. They're made from powder-coated steel. We couldn't believe our luck because when we decided to use arbors for the beans, it was in early spring that year, right when they put their arbors on sale for 50% off! Talk about good timing. I don't know how much their arbors are discounted for this particular sale, though.
