July 28 column

Here is a link to my column in today's edition of The Spokesman-Review: Space-saving containers allow for plenty of garden variety. It is a profile of Master Gardener Marilyn Lloyd who has a container vegetable garden. Since I know a lot of folks don't have the room for a more conventional veggie garden, I thought this would be a helpful topic.

In the above photo, you can see she's growing tomatoes, squash and pole beans in some of her containers

The photo to the left shows one of Marilyn's container-grown tomato plants. It is surrounded by a sturdy cage to support the plant and is growing well.
