Perennials - Sedum 'Autumn Joy'

If the upright Sedums (Stonecrop) are in bloom, it must be late summer. Here is a perfect example: Sedum 'Autumn Joy.' I also have 'Matrona' - which is similar but has purple stems and leaves and light pink flowers - and 'Picolette' which is even more purple.

The bees go crazy over the flowers: you can hear them busily buzzing away as they explore every square inch of the large flowerheads.

They are extra tough and hardy. They want a lot of sunshine but will grow in partial shade and aren't too particular about the soil. If you are looking for late summer-bloomers, this is a great one.
