Flowers - Marigolds

I think marigolds are sometimes snubbed as being a common, boring flower. I plant them every year in my veggie garden because they have pest-repelling qualities. It must be their strong scents that insects and other critters don't like.

This year, I picked up seeds for these cool marigolds from Ed Hume Seeds. Aren't they attractive? The variety is 'Starfire Signet Mix.' They have yellow, orange and red-orange flowers. They're easy to grow and do best in full sun.

Since we haven't gotten a frost in our garden yet, they are still blooming their little hearts out but they don't require any deadheading. Here is a link to more information on these marigolds.
