If you are having a hard time dealing with the fact that the gardening season is winding down and snow is on the way, I've got an idea you just might like: visit Gaiser Conservatory at Manito Park, on Spokane's South Hill.
We had out-of-town visitors last week so we decided to take them up to the park. Unfortunately, Duncan Gardens is done for the season but when we ducked into the conservatory, we had a delightful surprise. There were beautiful floral displays and it was such a peaceful place to visit.
What you're seeing above is a large display of Begonias (top) and some peach-colored Brugmansias, also known as Angel's Trumpet. So if you need a little pick-me-up, take a break in Gaiser Conservatory and enjoy the colorful sights!
The Conservatory is located in Manito Park, 4 W. 21st Ave. For more information about the park, go to The Friends of Manito's web site. The conservatory's hours are listed here: http://thefriendsofmanito.org/gaiser.html
